By day, the sharks swim in circles around underwater mountains, called seamounts. At dusk, the sharks head for their feeding ground, a distance of about 10 to 15 miles (16 to 24 km). All night long, these sharks gulp down tremendous numbers of squid and different kinds of fish. At dawn, the hammerheads make their way back to the seamounts.
